In 1987, Western Washington University debuted their “Artist and Lecture Series” which featured a variety of theatrical, musical and dance performances on WWU’s campus.  During these early years the series was moved around and housed in both the offices of Old Main and the College of Fine and Performing Arts at various points in time.  In the Fall of 1991 the series found its home, and a new name, in the College of Fine and Performing Arts.  The first PAC Series Season in 1991-1992 showcased such artists as Hubbard Street Dance Company and The Chieftains. It was the beginning of an incredible relationship between WWU and the community based on a shared passion for the arts.

The 08-09 PAC Series Season will mark the 18th season that the series has been offered in its current capacity.  Over the past 18 years we have proudly brought over 100 critically acclaimed professional artists to our community through the PAC Series.  Examples of past artists include Anoushka Shankar, Chanticleer, Bill T. Jones, The Hilliard Ensemble, Turtle Island String Quartet, Susan Marshall and Company, and Philip Glass.

During their time in our community these artists have provided local students with master class opportunities, performed for thousands of local K-12 students at free matinees, and shared their passion and talent through evening performances in the Performing Arts Center.
